REDS SMOOTHIE
When we want refreshing, fruity and thirst-quenching, we reach for reds. You get strawberries, banana, apple, raspberries, dates and ginger in every pack, plus we added chia seeds to up the fiber even more. It’s so good that normally we just simply shake it up with water of milk and we’re off, but recently we’ve been loving this strawberry watermelon refresher.
We’re far from workout kings and queens but when we do drag ourselves out for a sweat fest, this strawberry watermelon refresher really hits the spot post-workout. Watermelon juice is, in our humble opinion, an underrated member of the juice family. Not only is it as refreshing as they come, but it’s also packed with antioxidants.
The recipe is so simple that it’s easy to make even when you’re in a post-workout daze. We like to garnish it with a slice of watermelon when we’re feeling fancy, but it’s just as good guzzled down as it is.
This recipe takes just 1 minute to prepare and 3 minutes of total time.
Ingredients
The juice of ½ lime
8 fl oz (1 cup) watermelon juice
1 packet of kencko reds
Seltzer / sparkling water
Instructions
Add the juice of ½ lime, the watermelon, and kencko reds to a shaker, and shake well.
Pour over ice, and top with seltzer.
If you like, garnish with a slice of watermelon, but we’ll admit that sometimes we’ve already downed half of it before we even remember to cut a slice!
